Man Dies In Fall Down Building's Trash Chute

Victim Cleaning Roof Before Fall

NAPLES, Fla. -- A Naples-area man is dead after falling 18 stories down a condo building's trash chute.

Authorities said that the man was cleaning the roof of the Esplanade condominium when he fell Monday. He was part of a crew from Spectrum Painting and Restoration Company, which was pressure-cleaning the roof of the 18-story high-rise.

I wonder if it was the rattling around on the way down, or the sudden stop at the bottom that killed him. Sliding down something like that, if you catch a fingertip, you'll roll yourself into a meatball.

He'd be nice and round, just before he pancaked into the dumpster. If it was full of lumber, he'd have made shish kebabs of himself.

ditto... used to have a really nice 6am-2pm shift... so nice... then had to start college for whatever insane reason so here I am with this one.... grr

I worked in branch shipping for a jeweller. There was two of us, and we had to switch off shifts. The store hours were monday to wed. 10 - 6, thurs. 10 - 9, and sat 9-5.
So one week, one would get the good week of mon - fri 10 - 6, and the other would gt the shaft shifts of mon and teus 10-6, wed off, thurs and fri 1-9, and sat 10-6.

That job made me quit smoking, just so I could afford to quit.
