does anyone here besided me read manga? they're graphic novels from japan. a lot of anime are based on manga (maybe vice versa, too).
how many do you have, and what titles? what's your favorite? do you think they're too expensive? do you borrow most of yours, or do you buy them?
i have fifteen of my own. titles i have are:
-speed racer #1
-chobits #'s 1-4
-love hina #'s 1-2
-pet shop of horrors #1
-peach girl #'s 2-8.
my favorites are probably peach girl, pet shop of horrors, and chobits.
i dont think i'll be buying any more love hina, because the storyline doesn't interest me enough.
at $10 for the average manga, which can be read in like an hour (if that), i think they're too expensive. i try to avoid paying full price, by buying at conventions, or on sale.
i buy or am given all the ones i've listed, but i borrow, too... especially from my best friend Shannon, who is the one who got me into manga and anime. i have Inu-Yasha #1 now, and next she's letting me borrow Nausicaa (i think i spelt that right... it's by Miyazaki, who made Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke) next. in the past i also borrowed angelic layer #1. the first manga i ever read was in like 1999, when i wasnt into anime... a friend lent me 'Ah! My Goddess!'.
it feels like all my money goes into manga.
hello, my name is ash and i'm a Mangaholic.
