The question of the day is, why is it a felony to cary in a church?
I can understand the Law University for the simple reason that the sharks need to reproduce and educate their young but he could have walked into a satanic cult and needed the backup...

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mayor Frank Melton, who has taken a hard stand against the city's rising crime rate, pleaded guilty Wednesday to three misdemeanor weapons charges, avoiding possible jail time on a felony and removal from office.

Melton was given a six-month suspended sentence on each count, one year probation on each count and fined a total of $1,500.

The first-term mayor was accused of carrying a gun onto the campus of the Mississippi College School of Law on Feb. 28, a felony. He also was accused of two felony counts of carrying a concealed weapon into a church.

Georgia law prohibits carrying a weapon into a church, political rally, alcohol establishment, or any other gathered crowd (parades, rallies, sporting events, concerts, etc.) The only exception are peace officers, judges, and prosecutors.

Why is carrying a gun anywhere a crime? Using it could be another matter.

However, if the Mayor doesn't follow the law, why should anyone else?
