Moment of Silence

Today is Veterans Day.

Now, some people know what that means by the title. If you do, that's great. If you don't, :disgust2:

Today is the day we pay our respect to those who have served, and often died, for our country. If you have the chance, seek one of these people out and tell them Thank you. I have.

It's also Remembrance Day :)

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause and remember the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom and democracy during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War and during peacekeeping missions.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Re: Monent of Silence

The soldiers did a lot for us and out of respect we should have our moment of silence. My grandparents have told me so many stories about the war and it was horrid. My hat goes off to all the people who have fought for our countries.

Lest we forget...wear your Poppy, give thanks to Veterans, hug a grandparent. We're free because they died.

20 Million killed in WW I
30 Million killed in WW II
58,000 killed in Vietnam
#'s innacurate for those in Desert Storm
#'s innacurate and mounting for those in Iraq and Afghanistan

Salutes all the men & women that served in the name of peace, honor, freedom & democracy.
