WASHINGTON (Reuters) - America's employment outlook brightened on Thursday after the government said jobless claims dropped last week to their lowest since 2000, bolstering expectations for strong numbers in the April jobs report.

...And, since that spells interest rate rises ahead, stocks TANK.

Can you say "Buying opportunities"? I knew you could.

Think so? (stocks tanking) It's been so long, seems the market could actually use a little cash infusion from higher rates

We've seen the markets die all week long due to fears about higher rates. In the long run, it'll actually be positive, but stocks don't always react the way you'd think.

While the S&P's flat, all the other major indices are down 2-3% YTD.

They're actually up a bit right now, but I wouldn't bet that we've seen the bottom yet.

Add in a little oil price spike, and watch 'er fall! Where she stops, nobody knows!

*HomeLAN guesses about 9700 Dow, 1825 NASDAQ*

It's gonna hurt for a bit, but people will start a buying frenzy, and it will spike, then flatten out for a while.

It's pretty close to that now.

Dow.....9,873.91.....(-1.45%)
Nasdaq..1,883.60....(-2.47%)
S&P 5001,078.52.....(-1.55%)

I don't see it getting any better, especially with conservative estimates seeing the price of oil jumping up to $42/barrel by end of summer..despite SA's desire to increase production.
