More people approve than disapprove of healthcare passage

What? You had a use to claim we are "no longer a Representative Republic":

"A majority of Americans are opposed to this healthcare bill.

I finally met, after nearly a year of asking, one person who thinks this is a good idea. I know of a couple of others but they are not for THIS bill. They just think that something needs to be done.

Couple that with polls & the overwheming dis-satisfaction of Congress, a majority of Americans do not want this. It's clear. Congress went against their consituents & approved a bad bill. Their phone lines were overwhelmed by voters calling to tell them NO.

I have yet to meet anyone who thinks it's not a good idea. There was one Facebook friend I went to college with but it turns out he had believed some of the fear mongering propaganda and once I explained some of the actual facts he seems to be neutral on it now.

No, what's clear by the polls is that most Americans are happy with this. What's also clear by the polls is that a sizable percentage of those who didn't like it just wanted it to be more liberal and include a public option. Congresses phone lines where overwhelmed by voters telling them YES.

What was very clear in poll after poll was that the clear majority of Americans wanted us to start getting the hell out of Iraq and were against the war. The government went against their constituents and continued that debacle and you supported them ignoring their constituents.

No it's not about Iraq. I was just noticing the inconsistency. When the polls showed clearly Americans were against the war you didn't care, but when you thought incorrectly that people didn't want healthcare reform you made extreme claims about our democracy.

Spike, I sent you a message in response to your PM. You said you've had trouble with your inbox so I'm letting you know this way.

Surgeon General is not.

55% Favor Repeal of Health Care Bill

Just before the House of Representatives passed sweeping health care legislation last Sunday, 41% of voters nationwide favored the legislation while 54% were opposed. Now that President Obama has signed the legislation into law, most voters want to see it repealed.

In terms of Election 2010, 52% say they’d vote for a candidate who favors repeal over one who does not. Forty-one percent (41%) would cast their vote for someone who opposes repeal.

Poll Finds Low Enthusiasm, High Skepticism for Health Care Overhaul

Passage of the health care reform package has not done much to change public opinion about, it with 50 percent of Americans opposed to the legislation and 46 percent supporting it, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted March 23-26. An overwhelming number of those opposed saying they would support rolling back the changes either in Congress or the courts.

The poll also found a low enthusiasm level for the changes and a high skepticism level about whether they would
improve the system overall or change peoples' coverage and care for the better.

CBS Poll grades Obama, he's not doing very well, not very well at all.

Home chicken's flunking out on everything 'cept being a Marxist divider.

Repeal, replace, rebuild a nation brought to the brink by the worst president ever..

it with 50 percent of Americans opposed to the legislation and 46 percent supporting it

Another poll that doesn't take into account whether the people are dissatisfied with the bill because it's not liberal enough or doesn't include a public option.

More telling:

"The poll released Tuesday found 49 percent called the legislation "a good thing" while 40 percent said it was "a bad thing," Gallup said"

Really? You're posting the results from a silly online poll where you can vote as many times as you want? No chance that one got spammed up.

I just voted 3 times.

I notice you didn't link to the source. Did you think we weren't going to find out what kind of poll it was?

The worst president ever was Bush. As witnessed by his approval ratings. Obama doesn't have a chance of catching that record.

I guess liberals just have a knack for testing, investigating, and debunking total crap. I was clued in when you didn't link to the poll if that helps.

The only way I could find to take that poll more than once was to use a different browser.....so I did to cancel out spike's 3 time vote of all As.....

However, seeeBS has quite the range of stories on their website:

Drunk Man Gives Mouth-to-Mouth to Roadkill, say Police

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (CBS/AP) When police found Donald Wolfe, he was giving mouth-to-mouth "resuscitation" to a long-dead opossum along a major highway, according to officials

I read that on Fark.com a few days ago... hard to believe anyone could be conscious and drunk enough to do that...
Levier says Wolfe was "extremely intoxicated" and "did have his mouth in the area of the animal's mouth...I guess."
Nice to know that the words "alcohol was involved" still hold true with the weirdest stories. 0_o
And this DOES qualifies as a weird story.

How drunk does one need to be to want to give a possum mouth-to-mouth... really!!!

You are as well kind sir. Trying to play off an online poll as something meaningful was a risky move.
