It seems to me that property rights would supercede here. It's not a simple full speed fly-by, it's an invasion of property & privacy.

not if the thing is hovering over a public highway as the story mentions. of course that is stupid for other reasons.

if the gov and businesses can use drones, so should you.

will be interesting to see a small but growing drone countermeasures industry.

"gee, sir, i'm not sure how all that piano wire ended up strung between those phone poles. must have been terrorists... good thing your drone is here to protect me..."

drones are right expensive, but the RC industry has gotten some
really nice vehicles out now, and the price is right too.:beardbng:

right. "drone" in some instances ain't much more than a RC helicopter, just made to look more menacing....
