At work tonight, some of the guys were surfing, and found out that you can order Papa John's pizza on-line. Now...I can understand if you have dial-up, and you're in the middle of an extremely important download (porn), and have that urge for a snack, but we're on a T-3 line...and there's a phone right next to them...unused. What kind of a world have we become? How ridiculous is this? :lol2:

Dont tell me phones are becoming obsolete? Nooooooo!

Oh and where were they surfing? Arent you in Pittsburg?

I know a girl in Fresno who ordered Pizza Hut that way, too. But I'd gladly give up that convenience if it means getting pizza that has a crust that tastes good, and the place I order from here meets that criteria.

Some people don't have landlines... I have a mobile phone, and it would be cheaper to order online than to place a call.

Sounds like your wireless provider is fucking you up the ass. How many "peak" minutes do you get each month with your plan?

Umm...I'm originally from Pittsburgh. I'm in Charleston, SC, right now. The guys ordered the pizza here at work...while sitting right next to an un-used phone. We're tuning into a bunch of damned xenophobes. As for you, BoP, what does not having a land-line have to do with this? Don't Kiwi pizza joints deliver to cellular phones if you provide the address?

You're just miffed cuz you couldn't have any cuz yer onna diet to keep outta the USAF Fatboy program!

They would, but her provider is fucking her up the ass and it's expensive to make a call with the cell phone.

The old fat boy program is no more...RIP...we now have a physical fitness program which I pass every time, thankyouverymuch. :trout: :spank2:

i ran a papa johns for over a year. the system they use for on-line orders is disgusting. accepts orders waaay outside your delivery area, there is no alert for such orders (for example: if it is an off peak time, the manager may be the only "cook" there and might be in the back doing prep and unbeknownst to them there is an internet order just a flashing away on the monitor), and lastly, it offers no way of telling the customer a true and accurate delivery time. believe me, the management would appreciate your telephone call.

Whatever happened to just walking yourself to the shop and buying some food. Note: there aren't any take away places where I live, thank god.

The layout of living spaces in Yankmerica generally keeps shops and houses far outside of walking distance. Its usually at least a 5 minute drive if not more for the simplest amenities of life. Its supposed to be a mentality that when you are home and in your backyard that you don't hear cars, industry, or trains... or the heavy breathing of North Koreans for that that matter.

Europeans tend to buy a day or two of food at a time and bring it home in 2 small sack whilst Americans tend to buy one to two weeks worth at a time and bring home 20 bags.

non - american would be closer :D You can't be telling me you don't like going to the butchers or the bakery and choosing your fresh food. We do go to the supermarket but mainly for the boring crap.

Fresh bread is hard to beat. Good meat, frozen once, is not a problem. Everything else is done once every couple of weeks since one large shopping trip is ultimately cheaper than several small trips.

butchers are a dying breed here. we do have a local cajun butcher that we, personally, go to alot but the vast majority of americans buy their meat at the grocery. there is almost no other choice.

It works out cheaper to place an order online, than it does on the cell. We have a cheap wireless package on a per month basis.
