We're talking about the right for anyone to marry any consenting adult that they want. The right for these couples to be covered by their partners insurance, visit in the hospital, etc.

A man and a man =/= man and woman. Cats and dogs, apple and oranges.

Why limit it to just consenting adults? Why just two? Why just humans? Civil unions, have fun.
 
oh, for the record, any adult is not entitled to marry any adult. there are limitations.

The reason that we have laws which deny the marriage of cousins, brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers is because of the genetic aspects of such unions and the devastating effect it has on offspring.

However, this genetic aspect is not a factor in relationships which cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, produce offspring.

Should homosexual brothers be able to marry? Should a father be allowed to marry his son? A mother her daughter? A sister her sister? If not, why not? If so, why so?

If they are disallowed, is that not discrimination against those who cannot produce idiot children?

If they are allowed, isn't that granting them more rights than other people? Where is the "equality" then?

Yes, black does not equal white either. But all people should have the freedom to marry any consenting adult that they want. I don't know why you would want a nanny state to limit your American's freedoms.

Marriage takes consent. Adults are able to give consent for marriage. Why just two? I don't care if it's more than two.

You're stretching for a genetic argument where there is none. Genetics has nothing to do with the bigotry against homosexual marriage.
