Oh god, he's messing with the code again

I just upgraded OTC to XenForo so that we wouldn't be sitting ducks on an old vulnerable version of vBulletin.

I installed a Shoutbox and finally copied all 32k old old shouts that I never put into the old new Shoutbox, as well as the 11k old new shouts.

Please let me know of any and all loose ends I missed.

Oh, and happy anniversary, OTC! :beerbang:

Jelsoft revoked access to my licenses long ago because they didn't believe that Sam gave them to me. So, I wouldn't be able to upgrade to 4 even if I wanted to. Plus, I'm tired of vBulletin anyway. XenForo is nicer and faster, and has everything that was ever good about vBulletin (aka Kier, Mike, Ashley)

ah,...
I heard quite a few people having lic. probs every since the switch to ver. 4.
I had to get a new lic. too, and wasn't too happy about the way they did.

I never heard of this software, but it looks good so far.
was it OK switching over the db?

It dates back to even before 4.0. I couldn't even upgrade to 3.7 or 3.8. I tried to recover the password because I was going to pay the renewal fee to get the latest 3.x. Of course, it went to an old email that was no longer in service. Then when I finally did find the password (Sam emailed it to me a while back and I just needed to find what folder I put it in), they disabled the account. Then their support "professionals" were brick walls, thinking I was some hacker out to steal a few licenses.

The conversion was pretty much painless. The guys did a great job on it, and even built some scripts to keep links pointing to the old vBulletin threads working. I did have to tidy up some usergroups, but that's mostly because OTC has been converted 3 times...there's bound to be some leftovers.

And now there are a few hundred spammers sitting in the "Awaiting Approval" queue :lloyd:

oh man, you wouldn't believe the additional ip ranges I've had to ban since I posted that last list here.

Malicious hacking, and viruses have just exploded over the last several years.
I don't blame you at all for wanting to upgrade the security issues.

oh hey, ....
I just notice there's no editing of posts because the time is so short.
Can you lengthen the time limit?

I was going to add spammers to that short list. :D

Sorry about that. We are distant cousins, so I guess it's only natural there is some resemblance. :beerbang:

I welcome ideas on how to make it look good. You all know my design taste absolutely sucks
