One Justice down

Freak, Stalin was originally allied with Hitler until Hitler had the bad judgement to turn on him. I suspect that if Hitler never had we'd be living in a very different world today. Frankly, I've always suspected that if he'd just had the good sense not to attack Russia in winter, we'd all be paying at least lip service to a united, Nazi Europe or worse. He certainly made other mistakes, but this one was his undoing, IMO.

I had forgotten the alliance Stalin and Hitler had. I remember hearing they burned the fields or something so the Nazis wouldnt have food. I think he had other things that took him out of power but that certainly helped it

Actually that was exactly what I was thinkin'

The freakster has years and years to catch up with you!

Ya know...

I was ok with:
The court usurping states rights and approving of abortion
and denying parents the right to consent if their preggers 15 year old daughter wants to get a partial birth abortion.
and I was OK with the Court striking down the Texas law against plookin' every American citizen should have the right to homosexual sodomy
And I was just fine with the Court saying that government discrimination against white people should continue for another 20 years and that homosexuals and blacks should be protected unequally under the law with hate crimes.
and I was all good with the wreckage of property rights
because you living in your house doesn't provide as much 'public benefit' as another Costco or Walmart would...

I'll be fine with anything they decide, after all they are only intercepting
the Constitution
Right?

Don't people understand their cellphones are not private?

SEN. SCHUMER CAUGHT ON CELLPHONE: 'WE ARE GOING TO WAR' OVER SUPREME COURT

**Exclusive**

Senate Judiciary Committee member Chuck Schumer got busy plotting away on the cellphone aboard a Washington, DC-New York Amtrak -- plotting Democrat strategy for the upcoming Supreme Court battle.

Schumer promised a fight over whoever the President’s nominee was: “It's not about an individual judge… It's about how it affects the overall makeup of the court.”

The chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was overheard on a long cellphone conversation with an unknown political ally, and the DRUDGE REPORT was there!

Schumer proudly declared: “We are contemplating how we are going to go to war over this.”

Schumer went on to say how hard it was to predict how a Supreme Court justice would turn out: “Even William Rehnquist is more moderate than they expected. The only ones that resulted how they predicted were [Antonin] Scalia and [Ruth Bader] Ginsburg. So most of the time they've gotten their picks wrong, and that's what we want to do to them again.”

Schumer later went on to mock the “Gang of 14” judicial filibuster deal and said it wasn’t relevant in the Supreme Court debate.

“A Priscilla Owen or Janice Rogers Brown style appointment may not have been extraordinary to the appellate court but may be extraordinary to the Supreme Court.”

By the time the train hit New Jersey, Schumer shifted gears and called his friend and “Gang of 14” member, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The two talked in a very friendly manner about doing an event sometime this week together.

Developing…

Well...we all knew this would happen. It's easier to hate than to understand, after all.

An eighty+ year old guy with throat cancer
sheesh he should have another ten solid years left?

Long before you hit 20 years on the job
(and then can get your retirement)
or 65 years old yer gonna be history
off reading AARP magazine and eating dog food
waiting on the social security check.

These Klowns in Washington get themselves sweet deals
out our expense.

The upcoming Supreme Court confirmation battles in the wake of the retirement of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor are seen by too many people in terms of the Senate's comity and consensus. You can always get a consensus by surrendering.

With Senate Democrats united and Senate Republicans divided, comity and consensus mean letting the minority party determine what kind of Supreme Court will be making laws for our children and grandchildren to live under. What is the point of having elections if the winners are going to act like losers and vice versa? link
