How long do you think it will be before general/all-purpose robots or androids can be ordered and used by the average household family?

I say give it 10-20 years and we'll have a bunch of little Datas running around the place.

the mechanical parts of robots are very nice by now.
their ability of knowledge is still limited, and also the pattern recognition is poor.

i'd say.......15-20 years until proper knowledge and reasoning.
and no less than 20 years to proper pattern recognition
