Robs 'almost news' roundup

If it's the older kind with the drawer-loading system, it's easy to take it apart to get to the laser and clean it off. There's a warranty strip on it, but I'm sure it's old enough that the warranty would be no concern anyway. If by the off chance it's the slimline model with the lid that pops open, you've got easy access to the laser.

I have one of those. It was having problems, so I went and got a new slimline one. Then, one night I was bored, so I took the old one apart and found the laser under a thick layer of dust. I cleaned it off and, lo and behold, it worked like new again. So I gave the old one to Caity's sister.

Well, when Caity left, she traded PS2s, so now I have the old one and she has the new one. The only thing that really bugs me about it though is that my memory card was plugged into the new one and now I no longer have it... all my hard work on We <3 Katamari is now an hour and 45 minutes away from me. That, and another card costs $25.
