RU-486

* doesn't give a shit whether it's an inalienable right...if I'm gonna do it...I'm gonna do it...whether by pill, or by rusty coat hanger...it's gonna be done.

Just make sure they don't take your guns, Gonz.... :disgust2:

Low blow, Squiggy...especially for one who took an oath once to support and defend. ;) Leslie was/is doing a fine job on her own, BTW...

I thought she was too...It always bothers me how someone can be so staunchly against abortion and so supportive of the right to own extreme weapons ....or start wars without clear cause... Hard to be passionate at both ends of that spectrum and be taken seriously.

Since when is a firearm an extreme weapon? Before we get into this, perhaps we need some kind of definition...

lets just say 'beyond what is reasonably required for self defense.' And it was hardly a low blow to begin with. It just points out the contrast of two issues with common points...Gonz knows I'm open to discussion.

He made a note up front where he stood. Gonz is just getting bored and playing devils advocate. Doing a pretty good job too, but he's no LL.

* Thank GOD!

 I had thought of posting that it appeared LL had captured Gonz's flag and was now posting under that name....

this isn't really abortion...

this pill or pill combo
a) inhibits ovulation
failing that, it
b) gums up the fallopian tubes so that the egg can't travel through and become fertilized
failing that, it
c) makes the uterus inhospitable so that any fertilized ovum cannot implant thereby preventing pregnancy from occuring.

there is no abortion of pregnancy in this case, only prevention of such.

Well, the a word was used though.

I do agree with you Leslie, I really don't see this as much different than a condom or a birth control pill. You're not letting a fetus develop at all, merely insuring that there won't be one.

Thats how I see it too...But it rings of abortion to those who are prolife. I had hoped they would embrace this when it became available but I guess not....

Nah, I don't think the pro-lifers will be happy unless women just stay in a constant rotation of pregnancy and birth. Much like the Catholic Church.

There's no way the two sides will ever change their opinions.

Pro-life people will never accept choice.
Pro-choice people will never accept life.
