School lock-down!!

Oh my God, PT - I'd hate that. Well, hopefully the teachers there are worth having the kids in that environment?
No, not really. But what can I do? It's the public school system today.

Change schools. Private school. Homeschool.

There was a story in yesterdays local paper about the most awful inner city school we have. Horrendous ISTEP+ scores. 87% on the fre breakfast/lunch program. The parents wanted to know what was being done to improve the school. For all the excuses & the ignorance, the first quote in th estory said more of our education process than anything else.

"What are you going to do to help my child?"

The answer should have been...Nothing, that's your job.

Same thing happens here too. Lockdowns were almost yearly. No big deal, unless it delayed lunch.

I'd say if it was serious, there would be a media frenzy.

Lockdowns here are weekly or bi-weekly. After Columbine, they lock down schools for anything and everything. They once locked down Columbine because of a message writen on the bathroom wall.
