Seems like the Israeli's are making Yasser sweat...

Seems like the Israeli's are taking nothing anymore from Arafat, and that they're doing everything to make him sweat as much as possible, without harming the bastard himself...

RAMALLAH, West Bank (CNN) -- Israeli forces have destroyed all buildings in Yasser Arafat's Ramallah compound that immediately surround the Palestinian leader's main office.

On Friday, the day after a deadly suicide bomb attack in Tel Aviv, Israel Defense Forces continued to occupy the West Bank compound and were looking to arrest Palestinians they have labeled as terrorists. Arafat was unharmed, Palestinian officials said, and Israeli officials said he was not a target.

"No one is going to kill Arafat, no one is going to expel Arafat," said Alon Pinkas, Israel's consul general in New York.

Let's hope within months...he's been getting away with all kinds of terrorist acts in the last 3 decades. I think his game is over, especially 'cause he's losing more support of his own people every day.

with Israels decision to wipe the family's home from the planet upon murder-bombing, the terrorists support network is drying up rather quickly doncha think? :D Hamas? No, no Hamas supporters here.

can't LL, if he dies at Israels hands, even accidentally, he's a martyr for the next few decades.

Just afraid for the public outrage that'll cause...I'm pretty sure Sharon will get a lot of International comments if he does that.

But it would be better for everyone if he was eliminated. But that also goes for Sharon.
Get rid of both of them. It's currently more a personal vendetta between those two rivals than a war.

if support for him is waning from the palestinian people then the best thing to do is ensure that that continues. that way he becomes discredited and out of touch and not a murdered martyr

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - Yasser Arafat, caught in the tightest Israeli chokehold yet, pleaded for the world's help after troops blew up buildings in his compound Friday and started digging a deep trench and running coils of barbed wire around his office.

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: indeed!

"Right now, they are breaking, ruining the bridge which is connecting the two buildings," said Nabil abu Rudeineh, an Arafat aide inside Arafat's office.

"The situation is very grave and serious ... We urge the United States to interfere immediately to stop this catastrophe," he said.

As if they're gonna do that...

here's some of the rest of it

Israel said troops would withdraw only after the surrender of 20 wanted men holed up in the compound, including West Bank intelligence chief Tawfik Tirawi, who is accused of involvement in shooting attacks against Israelis. Arafat's aides said he would not hand over anyone from his entourage.

Late Friday, Israeli bulldozers began demolishing a second-floor walkway linking the two parts of Arafat's office building, effectively cutting him off from most of his security forces, Arafat aide Nabil Abu Rdeneh said.

Abu Rdeneh said Arafat and a few close associates, along with about 20 wanted men, were in one part of the building. Those inside feared the building could collapse as a result of the walkway's demolition, he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon reportedly raised the idea of expelling Arafat at a Cabinet meeting Thursday, just hours after the Tel Aviv blast. Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said the plan — for now — was to isolate, not oust the Palestinian leader.

This is so funny. Keep up the good work. And btw guys, if you have money lying around, go here: http://pizzaidf.org/ :D

I think its funny that Israel is actually demolishing something which Arafat probably didn't expect them to do. :)

funny-2 : differing from the ordinary in a suspicious, perplexing, quaint, or eccentric way : PECULIAR -- often used as a sentence modifier <funny, things didn't turn out the way we planned>

please tell me that is the meaning you were referig to. I'm also amused at the irony of the 'the shoe is on the other foot"

holy shit batman

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - Israel planted its flag in Yasser Arafat ( news - web sites)'s compound Saturday, and shell bursts shook his offices, chipping away at the building in an ever-tightening siege designed to make the Palestinian leader surrender militants or leave into exile.

Soldiers with loudspeakers in the evening shouted to the estimated 200 people holed up in Arafat's offices to evacuate the building — the last one still standing in the compound — or else troops would blow up the building.

Israel has insisted that it does not aim to harm Arafat even as it has torn his command center down around him over the past three days, and it appeared unlikely troops would carry out the threat.
