Cables are outrageously overpriced.

Monoprice dot com cures that.

example...today, I happened to notice a 5' HDMI cable at Best Buy. It cost fifty one dollars. You can get a 6' HDMI at monoprice for 6.37. Let's see...carries digital signal which either works or it doesn't. Which one would you pay for?

I've ordered two or three things & recommend them highly.

Looks like it.

Cables are where store profit lies... that's why they can sell you a TV for $1899 that cost the store $1840... because then they sell you a $79 cable that cost the store $8.

That's the diference between consignment and store invantory. If the TV is owned by the store they want to move it as fast as possible because more then likely the set is outdated outdated by the time it hit the showroom and a better product is being shipped before the unit is sold...

That's a relatively new phenomena. We used to sell this crap at a hefty 200-300% markup, not 125874%. Of course, anybody remember buying styluses for their turntable? That was another ripoff.
