Why not go with a single stick of 512 and save yourself from having to dump the 2x256 sticks in the future?

Missed that bit. The reason for two is that it's my understanding that to take advantage of the dual-channel capabilities here, you have to drop memory modules in pairs.

Yep, I haven't seen a dual ch board yet where the Isn't the case.
That's what I have in all my comps for surfing, and office type apps.
