Suggestions for a good lock-out program - PLEASE!

I want to lock Katie out of the operating system on her computer so she can't screw it up, does anyone have any suggestions for a simple but effective program? I don't want her to be able to get into anything at all when she's logged on except her own programs.

I just went to put the other drive in her comp and found she's done it again  so I'm having to format and reinstall everything. :( I was wondering why she wasn't playing with it for the last couple of days, but all she would say was she wanted to do something else.

She has '98.

Yep, there really isn't a good way to do it in 98, 2k or XP, you can give her that kind of access.

Reformat the computer, put on Windows 2000 and make her a guest. :D

That is the one OS I don't have! At the moment...

I do have XP pro but I haven't installed it on my own comp yet...

Ok, there is a way to go in and disable the control panel, and you can remove everything else from the Start menu by just deleting it from the Start Menu folder. That will stop 80% of people from screwing up their machines, but if she knows command line or how to use Windows Explorer, she can still screw it up.

She has a mental age of 6 or 7. No she doesn't. I did remove stuff from the start menu but want to stop her getting into the control panel and my computer. My logon had a password but hers didn't.

If she gets in there it's usually by accident and then she starts clicking on things and hey presto - big mess!

She's great with her own programs, I'm just getting fed-up having to sort out the rest of it evry couple of months.

Doesn't matter if you put a password on it anyway, if she clicks cancel, it goes to a default user. I'm looking now to see how to disable the control panel. If I remember right, TweakUI does it.

Er hm, actually it wasn't Katie who mucked it up this time, it was me. The samsung and seagate drives don't want to play nicely together. :(

Looks like I will have to get a bigger drive after all. But I still want to lock Katie out of the OS.
