take a gamble

Any gamblers here? What is your game of choice? Ever been to a casino? A casino town? Any stories of modest to good winnings to speak of? Any tragedies? Poker with the lads? Simply the state lotto for a kajillion dollars every once in a while?

My wife and I went to a Casino up the coast a few years back. it was alright but no, we didn't win anything. Actually, I was afraid of losing so I played the nickel and penny machines. Great way to kill a few hours though.

i exchanged money in a nova scotian casino once. ate seafood buffet at the isle of capri in lake charles. rubbery crab claws.

*looks left and right for the feds*

Hom... er... another member here and I have been part of a monthly poker game for nigh on 9 years now. Its all nickel and dime stuff... but a great way to pass the evening and keep in touch with old friends and coworkers.

I play the multi state lotto if it ever breaks 100 mil in prize money. I haven't won it *duh* ... else I probably would be off on some remote isle watching the tide roll and fade.

I've been to the casino town of Biloxi, Mississippi twice and lost a few dollars. My corporate welfare game of choice there is Caribbean Stud. I know its a house game, but I just like its structure. Half of the time I teach the new dealers how to keep track as it is slightly more involved than simple blackjack.

Not a gambler, i have no desire to ever go to a casino. I do however kickass at Blackjack and 4 handed spades.

I don't gamble. Don't see the point. I don't buy lotto, I don't buy scratchies, I don't play the slots. Got better things to waste the money on.

I've never set foot inside a casino. I've played my share of low stakes poker with the boys, and have yet to walk away from a table with less than I sat down with. I play the NCAA basketball tourney office pool. Won it two years ago...a handsome $220 profit. Otherwise, the occasional lottery ticket every couple of weeks is about it.

If the CA Lottery breaks $100 million again, I'll probably buy a ticket. Otherwise, I haven't done any gambling yet. Nevada is too far away for it to be convenient, and when I was in Fresno (within easy reach of 3 Indian casinos) I didn't have any money to be gambling.

Went to the casino hubby works at a couple years back. Threw in 20 while waiting for the show to start, won $1600.

Went and gloated at him for a bit, and gave him 60ish out of it. Man that was fun :D

Now I dont' gamble anymore. I figure that was my big win and I'm content with that.

I go to Biloxi for a long weekend once or twice a year, play the lotto if it gets over 100 million, and do a monthly quarter limit poker gig with some buddies.

That reminds me Unc, wanna take the new car Saturday? I'll get us there if you get us back.

Ditto!

The National Lottery started here about 10 years ago... I've been old enough to play for 2 years... I've bought a ticket twice!

Slot machines and fruit machines in bars are the bain of my life... try having a conversation with thE side of a man's head who's deciding whether to "nudge" or "stick" with flashy lights going off infront of them... maqy as well not bother.. its like asking them to chew gum and fart... its a complex process for them!

Every once in a blue moon, myself and a bunch of friends will hit the Montreal Casino. We all bring $20, we all play the one-armed bandits. The winnings go into one pot and the whole amount is split up equally at the end of our $20. It kills a few hours and we usually take in a show as well.

I really should play the lottery more often. My family's sickeningly lucky. One uncle won 'The Mini" twice $50k/draw. Another won a new car twice, my Mom's a killer on the poker machines when she plays, I've got a cousin that's won 130k$.

Mind you...i don't have all that much money to invest ino my famiy's luck-pool

Stopped in Nevada several times & drank free beer & gambled what that would have cost. No lottery. Don't play cards. I can find better ways to blow a wad of cash.

About twice a year, me and the wife go to Brunswick to take a gambling cruise. I always seem to come back with more than I left with. I stay with Keno. I also play the lottery every once in a while...when the pot gets over 30 mil...
