Actually, Boeing has been working on it since the late '90s. I never would have given it a second glance, but Boeing sin't known for crackpot, pie-in-the-sky ideas. I did some reading on the subject. Might have some links at home if you're interested. I think the physics are a little iffy, but I'm not a physicist.
