Not only did you help North Korea establish itself as a nuclear power & watch as the Shah of Iran fell to fanatics while taking 66 American hostages you set the stage for this with your blanket amnesty.

Plans to build a memorial to draft-dodgers from the Vietnam War is sparking outrage from American veterans, and President Bush is being urged to oppose the project.

A private Canadian group is sponsoring the monument, which is slated for display in Nelson, British Columbia, in 2006.

"This will mark the courageous legacy of Vietnam War resisters and the Canadians who helped them resettle in this country during that tumultuous era," said Isaac Romano, director of Our Way Home.

while I am against the draft, why would draft dodgers get a monument? I hate to say that because my father almost was but wound up deciding to go to the army. But they didnt do anything.

Carter!
OMG, you had to mention that black eye didn't you.
I'm trying my best to forget about him, and was doing pretty good at it, but nooooo. :behead:

I think he ought to go a head and join the UN so he can keep his finger up Koffee Anan's butt,
or maybe move to Cuba with his friend Fidel.

Think ol' "Rough and Ready" Roosevelt has quit turning in his grave over Carter giving the Panama Canal to Panama?

Somebody needs to remind this man he SUCKED as President & his opinions should stay in Georgia with him.

Voting arrangements in Florida do not meet "basic international requirements" and could undermine the US election, former US President Jimmy Carter says.

He said a repeat of the irregularities of the much-disputed 2000 election - which gave President George W Bush the narrowest of wins - "seems likely".

Mr Carter, a veteran observer of polls worldwide, also accused Florida's top election official of "bias".

"With reforms unlikely at this late stage of the election, perhaps the only recourse will be to focus maximum public scrutiny on the suspicious process in Florida."

Most Canadians oppose such a monument BTW...and all the people who called in to comment on it when our local news/talk radio station brought it up were in favour of knocking it down. :canada:

And how is President Bush going to tell the Canadian government not to do something if they really want to? I'm not Canadian, and I even see this as a tacit assault on Canada's soveriegnity. We can ask, but, if it comes across as a demand, then it's really going to cause a stink. Of course, with Canada's recent penchant for doing things just because it upsets the folks on their southern border...
