A Republican in a wheelchair entered a restaurant one afternoon and asked the waitress for a cup of coffee. The Republican looked across the restaurant and asked,
"Is that Jesus sitting over there?" The waitress nodded "yes," so the Republican requested that she give Jesus a cup of coffee, on him.

The next patron to come in was a Libertarian with a hunched back. He shuffled over to a booth, painfully sat down, and asked the waitress for a cup of hot tea. He also glanced across the restaurant and asked, "Is that Jesus over there?" The waitress nodded, so the Libertarian asked her to give Jesus a cup of hot tea, "My treat."

The third patron to come into the restaurant was a Democrat on crutches. He hobbled over to a booth, sat down and hollered, "Hey there, honey! How's about gettin' me a cold glass of Miller Light?" He, too, looked across the restaurant and asked, "Is that God's boy over there?" The waitress once more nodded, so the Democrat directed her to give Jesus a cold glass of beer. "On my bill," he said.

As Jesus got up to leave, he passed by the Republican, touched him and said, "For your kindness, you are healed." The Republican felt the strength come back into his legs, got up, and danced a jig out the door.

Jesus also passed by the Libertarian, touched him and said, "For your kindness, you are healed." The Libertarian felt his back straightening up, and he raised his hands, praised the Lord and did a series of back flips out the door.

Then Jesus walked towards the Democrat. The Democrat jumped up and yelled, "Don't touch me... I'm collecting disability."

More like, they love government & all the trappings od socialism, which made the prices so high.

there you go again.

yes, it's the commies. all 17 of them that are still alive on the planet.

but seriously...

i don't think that gas prices are so high because of "socialists," but they're likely kinda high because of lousy capacity planning (refineries and all) and archaic infrastructure in this country.

That's 3.675 USD/US gallon for you folks...

and i think that's about what i'm paying here at this point. i may be able to avoid buying gas this week as i'm traveling for a few days (to toronto, again)...

i was almost tempted to buy a honda hybrid just to save money, but then i realized, i don't really care about $50 vs. $25 a week in gas, and i don't wanna drive no sissy car... me likey go fast....

If I'd gotten gas in Lompoc, it would have been $3.64... driving the 20 or so miles from there to Santa Maria on the way home saved me nine cents a gallon.

It's 107.9 everywhere here...in the city and outside the city...I stopped "shopping around"...when the prices started going up this time it was like the gas stations all formed a brotherhood or something, the prices are eerily consistant.

I can count the occasions on 2/5ths of one hand that I've paid more than $50.00 to fill up the gas in my car. Last night was one of them, at $3.199 in Greenwood, IN. A block south of one that had it at $3.099. :cuss:

Does your car have the Ford corporate 16-gallon tank? Or is it a 19-gallon? If it's a 16-gallon... it's not good to run the tank that close to empty.

It's an 18-gallon tank, it starts whining at me when I've only got a couple gallons left... that's when I filled it back up.

Yep. The moral center led the charge to end atomic energy & new fuel refining in the USA.
