Saying he has serious doubts about the safety of more than 1,100 hangers that hold up heavy concrete ceiling panels in the closed Interstate 90 connector tunnel, Governor Mitt Romney outlined an ambitious plan yesterday to reinforce or remove each of the steel rods.

He said the work would take two months or more, but that some heavily traveled ramps could reopen over the next two weeks.
 
what other course of action can be taken to insure no more panels fall on people?
at $14 Billion+, whats a few more million to make the necessary repairs
 
The impression is that either/or the contractors did not know what they were doing or the government had been watching every breath..

But then SOP is to go with the lowest bid...
 
both actually. they have found documents debating if the system used would be sufficient dating back to 1999. now they are trying figure out who ok'd that setup and who should be held responsible.
