THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- The Dutch government has collapsed after less than 100 days in office amid disagreements in the three-party coalition and feuding within the party of murdered maverick Pm Fortuyn.

IS this good or bad. I don't pay attention to the little countries in Europe because they don't bother anyone & seem self-sufficient enough. It's socialism I bet. Socialism kills everything it touches.

Mhhh....tried to avoid that subject. :(

I'm greatly ashamed for my own government. That party, the LPF, was formed by losers, all trying to take over Fortuyns position.
They started bitching about who was in charge, and that went on and on and on...

And now thing collapsed, and the government is EXIT. Perhaps new elections before the end of the year.
Way to go, I wouldn't like to be the one bringing the news to the queen, one day after her husband was buried :(

i know, but this one sucked so hard it....nevermind :D

it was a bad government, more worse than the usual...

His government doesn't suck, he just doesn't have one. You actually have to have one in order to say it sucks, don't you?

Shadow, I'm sure they'll put together some way to collect your taxes, don't you worry.

The thing is, Netherlands requires a majority. That means, the parties have to make coalitions UNTIL there is a majority government. That can take ages.

I really don't know if this is for the good or bad of the country. Ah well, time will tell.

Mhh, I don't get it. Locke, Hamilton, and those guys all wrote extensive papers on the shortcomings of the Parliamentary system, yet people insist on using it. Our system is faaar from perfect, but it is Parliament version 2.0, designed to be a little bit better.

So whats up in Netherlands now? Elections?

Yup, hopefully before the end of the year. The sooner we're getting rid of the LPF, the better. At the moment nobody is governing ANYTHING here

It's a fucking mess, that's what it is.
It's the second time within a YEAR that a government is fallen btw

Talk about stable

Italy might get jealous...

Now um, just remember, when talking about LPF... What you guys label right-wing is not what we consider right-wing, nor is that what I am...

that's not what i meant :)
I hate the LPF not because they try to be right winged. i hate it that they put personal vendetta above governing a country. they were always the unstable factor in that government, and i told a few months ago this was gonna happen sooner or later.

we need a more right winged government, which takes out a bit of the extreme tolerancy in this country.

*hugs Shadow*
I know that doesn't help your situation, but I'm thinking of you.

On another note...Is it true that the Netherland military is unionized? I've heard statements about it, and would like to assess it's truth...

Yes they are unionized. And it is a volunteer army since 1995. Their basic training is also based on US training methods, not Commonwealth as is Canada.

Well fortunatly you can head down to the coffee shops drop a big lump of hash in your coffee and smoke a big spleef and foghetuhboutit:D

Maybe the Netherlands could slip some power to the EU. Isn't its headquarters in the Netherlands? Always nice to have a back up plan. Maybe slip some of the power to UN also, BACK UPS.
