The South will rise again

Well, with the election coming, it's always a possibility that some states will try to take advantage of the confusion to secede. In your most humble, but intelligent opinion, what group would most likely succeed, what would guarantee their success, and why would they secede?

First, start HERE.

The most likely states to secede are Idaho, Texas, Montana, and Hawaii. All of them have strong secessionist movements and Texas never gave up her right to secede and thus remains a Republic.

I have not seen any strong secessionist movements in any of the southern states. Maybe SnP might know but he doesn't live here any more. I know he would love to secede on a personal level; and would likely join a secessionist movement if there were one of any note in his state.

By the by. The state that is best suited to secession is California.

  • Three major ports
  • Eight international airports
  • The largest rail yard west of the Mississippi
  • 12-15% of the population of the U.S. and thus 12-15% of the tax wealth
  • An economy that, if she were a country, would be fifth in the world
