Those who ought to know better

Regardless of God, biology created menopause. And impotency for men. And there's a damn good reason for it. Family. The best structure for raising kids, found worldwide, is the 3 generation family.

Generation one : the kids. Being raised in a structure with social rules, by relatives instead of strangers.
Generation two : Parents. One of each. To feed, cloth and house everyone.
Generation three : Grandparents. To teach the kids (and parents) the wisdom accumulated over 50-70 years of living. So that mistakes don't get repeated.

Why God invented menopause:

With all the new technology regarding fertility, a 65 year old woman was able to give birth to a baby recently. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, her relatives came to visit.

"May we see the new baby?" one asked, "Not yet." said the mother. "I'll make coffee and we can visit for a while first".

Thirty minutes had passed and another relative asked, "May we see the new baby now?"

"No, not yet" said the mother. After another few minutes had elapsed they asked again, "May we see the baby now?"

"No not yet" replied the mother.

Growing impatient they asked, "Well, when CAN we see the baby?"

"When it cries" she told them. "When it cries?" they demanded "Why do we have to wait until it cries?"

"Because I forgot where I put it ......"

Grrr...

55-year-old has in vitro baby

ANAHEIM — Like many women, Carolyn Pelcak dreamed of becoming a mother and having a satisfying career.

The 55-year-old single mom gave birth Thursday to her second child, son Alexandre, through in vitro fertilization.

The birth came seven years after she graduated from law school at age 48.

Pelcak married in her late 30s and immediately tried to get pregnant, but she and her husband were initially unsuccessful, despite seeing fertility specialists.

She had doctors harvest her eggs, create embryos with her husband's sperm then freeze them until she finished law school.

She and her husband eventually separated, but Pelcak still wanted a baby.
The Fresno Bee - registration probably required

Damn 55 years old and having a baby?
Isn't that supposed to be the years you get rid of your kids and hope they move out and and start a family of their own soon....
And then she's out of law school so she will probably be working alot, having to have someone else raise her kid while she's working...Come On Now.... :eyebrow:

Picture the high school graduation - with a 73 YO mother, assuming she lives that long. Pure selfishness.

so many levels

to her second child

THat blows the "I've always wanted one but couldn't", arugument.

The birth came seven years after she graduated from law school at age 48.

Cool, get a stinking job & a cat then.

She and her husband eventually separated, but Pelcak still wanted a baby.

Greedy bitch. "I want" overrides the childs need for a two parent intact home & almost assuredly creates an orphan.

Maybe this needs to be studied, as well as taken.
I swear in the presence of the Almighty and before my family, my teachers and my peers that according to my ability and judgment I will keep this Oath and Stipulation.

To reckon all who have taught me this art equally dear to me as my parents and in the same spirit and dedication to impart a knowledge of the art of medicine to others. I will continue with diligence to keep abreast of advances in medicine. I will treat without exception all who seek my ministrations, so long as the treatment of others is not compromised thereby, and I will seek the counsel of particularly skilled physicians where indicated for the benefit of my patient.

I will follow that method of treatment which according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patient and abstain from whatever is harmful or mischievous. I will neither prescribe nor administer a lethal dose of medicine to any patient even if asked nor counsel any such thing nor perform the utmost respect for every human life from fertilization to natural death and reject abortion that deliberately takes a unique human life.

With purity, holiness and beneficence I will pass my life and practice my art. Except for the prudent correction of an imminent danger, I will neither treat any patient nor carry out any research on any human being without the valid informed consent of the subject or the appropriate legal protector thereof, understanding that research must have as its purpose the furtherance of the health of that individual. Into whatever patient setting I enter, I will go for the benefit of the sick and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief or corruption and further from the seduction of any patient.

Whatever in connection with my professional practice or not in connection with it I may see or hear in the lives of my patients which ought not be spoken abroad, I will not divulge, reckoning that all such should be kept secret.

While I continue to keep this Oath unviolated may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art and science of medicine with the blessing of the Almighty and respected by my peers and society, but should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse by my lot.

Fuck ethics, what happened to sanity?? I'd bet even though most unethical doc wouldn't do that unless they were slightly not all there!
