Today's the day...

Almost seemed as if we were attempting to go after Saddam at first and save Iraqis some pain. Bombing is heavier already this morning. Anyone have word on ground operations?

MSNBC said a bit ago that the Ground war has started, but then said it was just artillery.

The Iraqi military is putting up little resistance. CIA and others are currently communicating with military officials on different levels in Iraq trying to convince them that Saddam if still alive, he won't be for long and that they should not resist. It's not clear whether Saddam currently has the ability to communicate with his forces. I'd love to see the entire government/military fold with little loss of life. Won't keep my hopes up though.
