Wow! Its that easy huh?

The most important skill/trate of all has to be intelligence

Yes.

Intelligence? To raise a child...hardly. All critters great & small have babies. Only humans turn their rearing over to another & complain when jr gets eaten by a bear.

So having a baby... bringing it home from the hospital to your new council flat (having been bumped to the top of the list and received 300 quid for having the child) and not being able to figure out why the baby won't eat its sandwich if its hungry is acceptable... (tale told to me by ex social worker)

Like I say intelligence...

Once this kid worked out how to care for the child physically do you think she'd be capable of providing emotionally and intellectully?

intellectully (intellectually)?

intellect

Gonz is absolutely right (as usual).

Spawning and then providing for the barest minimum,
at least in the first world is a no brainer.

Now creating a happy superior being
(assuming you have the proper genetics to begin with heh heh)
is another matter altogether.

One of Winky’s parenting rules of success.
The experiment’s (the child) emotions must be carefully controlled
and monitored during the minus 9 months to 36 month period.
The neural framework for emotions is primarily laid down at this time.
Nothing like telling your 3 year old to “get control of your emotions’
and by age seven he ‘gets it’ lol

Sorry if you have a child that is 7 or 8 because if you’ve damaged their basic
emotional programming there’s no hope of fixing it until their like 25 lol

Exactly my point... I think if "no brainer" means stupid or lacking in intelligence or forethought...

IMO resorting to Tranquility Bay tactics denotes a lack of the above as the parents have definitely only invested the bare minimum in rearing their child... as the "bad result" shows.

Some parents of rebellious teenagers in the US are turning to privately-owned correctional institutions to steer their wayward children back on the right path. But is this tough love tactic a step too far?

That's not tough love. That's, "i'm a shitty parent who doesn't discipline their kids so i need someone else to do it".

Why the hell is this place in Jamaica? Ship'em somewhere not so nice...Siberia comes to mind.
I think I would have preferred Siberia. I hate hot summer days.

Yeah, I'm weird.

As for that Tranquility Bay place: seriously fucked up. Seriously..

Well not actually:
2 entries found for no-brainer.
no-brain·er (nbrnr)

no-brainer
n : anything that requires little thought

I find it rather odd that the times I've used this idiomatic expression it normally pertained to a series of very complex tasks, such as raising a child.
I viewed child rearing as a grand experiment as there were so many variables some of which I couldn't directly control.

As I stated earlier in this thread I provided a setting, at least in the formative years, that was similar to the boot camp world these lame assed yuppie parents are sending their 'rebellious' teenagers too.

Early on I impressed the Kid with the concept of
'cause and effect'. He and I still revel in the idea of:
if you are doing something you should not be doing and I tell you once to choose another course of action and you do not comply, then it is self evident that sending information through the air in the form of sound waves into your ear and on to your auditory center did not work. It is then incumbent upon me as your parent to utilize another mode of communication. I will use various means and methods to stimulate nerve endings on your body resulting in a sensation known as pain. This instead of entering your brain in the areas of higher development will travel up your spine and enter your brain via the limbic system. It will then filter up to the emotive and intellectual areas. Now I want you to understand this clearly so it will elicit the correct response immediately because I don't want to have to be stimulating on you all the time!

Yeah well popping out a brat feeding it and keeping it under some modicum of control
is a No Brainer, if someone follows this method of child rearing they are most likely to dumb too realize that the ‘rebelliousness’ the creature is exhibiting during adolescence
is a direct result of the way the formed the child during the ages minus nine months to seven years.
I see it all the time…

Around 15 he was gradually granted full autonomy and now at 17 he is on his own. Well his Mom still nags the shit out of him but he stopped listening to her at age 3 months.
I hold his attention to this day through a deeper understanding of how the human mind works.

I guess you get nagged at by your Mom and if you don’t stop listening to the Blah blah blah
you end up a Mamma’s boy.
Without a dad around to kick your ass by the time a kid gets to his or her teenage years they are freaking out of control!
