Unemployment Rate Falls, Companies Add 143,000 New Jobs in January

This was faked by erroneous numbers published for December. The real numbers show the whole thing to be a wash...i.e. 0%....:disgust2:

They did, however state that there was a growth in bartending and restaurant jobs that was seasonal.

:confuse3: For financial reports? I've never seen much need for them to lie about that..And I don't remember any incidents of false reports . I'm not making a political statement there. Numbers are numbers.

Since fewer retail employees were hired in December than expected, fewer were fired, so December's payroll figure looked worse than it really was, and January's number probably paints an overly rosy picture of the labor market.

This was the only reference to what I was speaking of. The report the other day went into detail showing that the numbers actually produced a virtual wash. Its not a bad thing. It just is.

actually.. everyone is correct. The numbers did get better ... but it was also an oddball seasonal flux of low end non farm jobs that should fizzle out.
