Nah. I think the timber is worth more. The types of trees that grow in cold climates like that mature very slowly and are as dense as they come. You can make furniture that will last 100s of years with that stuff.

Swede in name only. That stuff comes from Thailand, Laos, and half a dozen of those new poor -vakia states in the late Soviet bloc.

I'll agree with you on the timber, iron and pr0n parts though... Nothing like some good ol' fashioned Swedish timber-pr0n.

And yeah, oak(as well as a few other types of Swedish wood) is indeed very durable. China used to build heatshields for their satellites out of it, you know.
 
The one mine may have run dry, but you have lots of it still. Its just become cost impractical to mine it anymore considering that South America and Africa can dredge it up for a lot less of cost and safety.
