Well, the conditions the animal is kept in to produce veal are generally much more inhumane than producing beef. While conditions and treatment of animals raised for meat is pretty horrible across the board, veal would be considered on the far end of the spectrum.

Beef specifically is also generally not a healthy food, contributes to global food shortage because the land could be used much more efficiently, and is damaging to the environment because of overgrazing and it's contributions to deforestation.
