Virus question

I doubt it since I just reformatted my HD last weekend..grrr...ah well...I'm going to attempt the fix now. Thanks for all the help.

One last thing, are those other values of concern?

....Ok...I followed the instructions...however, from this....

1. Click Start, and click Run. The Run dialog box appears.
2. Type regedit and then click OK. The Registry Editor opens.
3. Navigate to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

4. In the right pane, delete the value

Kernel32

5. Navigate to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\[Default Use ID]\Software\
Microsoft\Outlook Express\[Outlook Version].0\Mail

6. In the right pane, delete the values

Compose Use Stationery
Stationery Name
Wide Stationery Name

7. Navigate to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Options\Mail

8. In the right pane, delete the value

EditorPreference

9. Navigate to and delete these subkeys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllFile\Shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllFile\ShellEx
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllFile\ScriptEngine
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllFile\ScriptHostEncode

10. Exit the Registry Editor.

The only steps I could do were 5 and 6. I couldn't find kernel32 from step 3 or EditorPrefrence from step 7 and none of the subkeys from step 9. Did I mess up? :/
 
When you searched, did you search from the top each time? Sometimes the search starts from wherever your last search ended, going either up or down.

This is exactly one reason I quit using norton.
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago, and switched to AVG.
I haven't had a problem since.
 
Yeah, I did the search a few times and couldn't find them other than that one :/

And switching AV isn't really an option for me for awhile yet since I just got Noton like a week ago...

Ah well....que sera etc...Thanks for all the help :)
