I spent some time glued to the screen this weekend .. it was rainy and there's nothing better than to lay in bed and watch movies on a rainy day .. well, almost nothing better ;)

"The Clandestine Marriage" - based in 18th century England, it's a comedy of love and lust of the time ... I recommend it if you like English humor .. otherwise, pass on it ...

"Kate & Leopold" - love love stories? love time travel? love Hugh Jackman? *swoon* ... watch this one.

"Bedazzled" - coulda done without it

"Crossroads" - my son rented this one. Now it's official. I loathe Brittney Spears.

"Amelie" - Fantastic French Film about destiny and chance ... and giving destiny a "hand" ... Pick it up ... give it a watch ... see what happens ...

i've not seen amelie but it got fabulous reviews here, and i like french films anyway. thanks for reminding me og my next videoshop rental :)

I wanted to rent Amelie last time but my boyfriend talked me out of it somehow. Something about subtitles. And I remember saying, "But 'Life is Beautiful' had subtitles"... That's a definate choice next time. :)

hehehe ... I've always hated Brittney .. now I loathe her :D

greenie - you'll love it ... but make sure to watch it from the beginning or else you'll be lost ... it's fabulous - I watched it twice :)

Amelie - what a gloriously original and all-round wonderful film. I loved it completely and I'm usually so critical - but this really was good. The kind of stuff it comes up with just makes you giggle to yourself. Oh, and the guy who plays Nino - :brow:

Another useless fact - The guy who plays Nino in Amelie (Mathieu Kassovitz), was in The Fifth Element! He's the guy who tries to rob Bruce Willis at his apartment. The guy holding the gun and wearing the hat, going "Give me the casssshhhhh!" And then Bruce Willis tells him he has to press the yellow button on the gun to load it. :D Okay, I'll go away now...

Wasn't it though? I just loved it .. start to finish ... even the neurotic parents :D I loved the part where they're saying that she's "tried to have a boyfriend" .. the look on her face is priceless!

I knew I saw him in something else! He was so cute in "Amelie" ... when he was answering Gina's questions .. the proverbs ... just a doll :brow:

I was in hysterics at that bit! :D :D

my other favorite part is when she gets back at the man for telling her that her taking pictures caused accidents :D

yeah that bit too :D

Mathieu was also in 'Birthday Girl' apparently (the one with Nicole Kidman). I haven't seen it.

*swoon*

I love his look they're riding around the city on the bike ...

is it hard to tell that I like the whole movie? :D

Britney ripped off a title from a great movie. the real Crossroads

A young musical prodigy studying at New York City's Julliard School becomes obsessed with the music of the Mississippi Delta, the blues. Intent on discovering fame and fortune as a blues guitar player, he seeks out the legendary bluesman, Willie Brown.

ralph macchio sucks but it was a great flick. Had a Steve Vai vs Ry Cooder guitar war.
