I disagree. Liberalism (and conservatism, it's my position that at the far left or the far right the similarities far outweigh the differences) is an excuse for stupidity. There is no excuse for ignorance (although many people make excuses for it). Oh, and Hitler was a conservative. He used the Nationalist Socialist Party to his own ends, but his goal was never socialism. He was a fanatic nationalist, not unlike some people on this forum. The difference is he was also barking insane.

There is no such thing as free speech on college campuses. If you don't agree GW is the devil you're an evil vile loser with hate on the mind & probably a gun in your pocket.

Certainly what the conservative press wishes you to believe. I suspect that the reality is rather less absolute.

Granted, it's been years, but my experience was a true melting pot of theologies. Maybe some were more populated than others, but I had little trouble finding someone of most any school of thought politically.

True. Unfortunately, the 85% of sane middle grounders are silent. The rest are rabid rabble. There's no such thing anymore as peacably voicing an opinion.

Yes RR, I have & they aren't. The students are taking back their education but the ACLU backed clubs far outweigh the Ann Coulter For President clubs.

Sorry, but you are wrong. I live in a college town, my fiance is a student, my roommate is a student and I graduated 3 years ago. Even in a "blue county" most students vote republican.

So, your college town is just like Gonz's, or mine? Please.

You aren't in every US college town, either one of you. Personal experience doesn't qualify anybody on that question.

in the sixties it swung to the left

This is pretty much dead on, but the trend is swinging more and more to the right as college gets more and more expensive.

collage is dirt cheap if you are in the top 1% of intelligence bracket

they are paying my kid to go to the honors program

and his school counselor got him an interview with Princeton
review to be a SAT prep instructor for 16 bucks an hour

(starts training at months end)

Simply pointing out that both of them are proclaiming themselves experts on the political situation at US colleges - with absolutely zero to back it up.

My bullshit-o-meter went off.
