Americans that is.

Many of our faithful have commented on what robust heifers we are in this land of gold lined streets. Well, STFU. You, apparently have joined us. Maybe, with this release you'll realize what we've known for some time:the doctors are quacks & there's nothing wrong. Always had a few fatso's. always will. It's the numbers that keep changing, not the humans. It gives these overeducated guessing machines some reason to get paid.

It's a bitter truth to swallow: About every fourth person on Earth is too fat. Obesity is fast becoming one of the world's leading reasons why people die. In an astonishing testament to globalization, this outbreak of girth is occurring just as doctors everywhere but sub-Saharan Africa are winning the fight against infectious diseases from smallpox to malaria.

So...it's OK because the rest of the world's following in your overstuffed footsteps? Puh-lease! Just because others are following the example set by Americans, in overeating, junk food, lack of excersize and overindulgeance in lazyness...doesn't mean that it's a good example to set. Nor does it mean that the USA shouldn't be working towards solving these problems.

The doctors were right...and there is something wrong. What's wrong? Well... the doctors are saying that people should reduce their food intake, avoid fatty and sugary foods and get in some excersize. They're prefectly right....but people are not doing that. Why bother following the advice of your doctor? Why, that'd mean cutting down on Ding-Dongs and actually stepping away from the TV long enough to miss "Friends" and actually go out for a walk once a week....with your real friends.

There are some that say that obesity is a disease...I wouldn't be surprised that in some cases, that this was a truism. In most cases though...the disease's name is laxitude....and it comes from living high-on-the-hog. Too much money, not enough work, and no respect for one's own body.

Sharky, ask that question using a 1975 chart & I'll bet it drops to less than 25%. They've moved the scale. Several times.
