PETA nutballs in New York want the city of Fishkill to change its name to FishingHurts.com because the current name makes people think of abusing fishies, writes the Poughkeepsie Journal.

This, even though the name Fishkill is actually derived from two Dutch words: Vis, for fish, and Kill, for stream or creek.

PETA says never-you-mind. They’re offering to donate $15,000 worth of soy-based, faux-fish product for school students in the town if the name is changed.

PETA has been eating too much soy since the vegans joined up with them.

I appreciate some of the work that they do to tear down puppy-mills, and other abhorant conditions in which animals find themselves thanks to greed andthe bottom line, but then they do something like this and lose another pound of respect for their ounce of cure. :shrug:
 
I think PETA has done some good, maybe if only to make people aware of things they otherwise wouldn't.

Exactly, the whole idea of Peta is decent. Keep people from beating their dogs, starving their cats, that kind of thing.

It's stuff like this that makes the country think they're insane and actually hurts them in the long run, cause it's hard to take anything else they say seriously.

Because it's a HUGE organization and they can't control all of their members. It only takes a few idiots to make the lot seem nutty.

This is an old story. It may have been revived by PETA for PR sake. They also wanted Hamburg NY to change their name to Veggieburg.
