My sincerest apologies for my imperfect English from time to time. I don't have your centuries of experience in the English language, but I am learning.

Since he made a point of telling me HE knows the basic rules of English and I do not.
 
As if I follow them with any regard half the time. :) I love comma splicing, runon sentences, jargon, trite expressions, improper elipses, quintiple negatives, verb tense. Sentence fragment.
 
Same here....but I know the correct form, should I decide to follow it...
 
I don't. My kids come to me and ask, Dad, I'm supposed to underline the adverbs and circle the predicates, I say, "Ok?" I know how to type, and I'm not horrible at spelling, just don't ask me about grammer, I just say it the way it sounds right to me, and type it the same way.
