Sun dog?

Well, I'm in oklahoma and have witness tornadoes - fortunately never too up close and personal, though. We had a right nice 'scardy cat hole' where I grew up. :D

I've seen an eclipse or many, too.

Slept through an earthquake in Las Vegas once - but didn't wake up so it doesn't count. :(

I have only been through a tornado - scary!
I would like to see ball lightening, it sounds pretty cool! :zap:

I'm bettin the only natural eruption that took place while you were there was your hubby :D

Well, I've already voted so I can't change it, but I've seen a tornado and an eclipse and I've felt an earthquake.

*lol* Haven't been to Vegas with my husband. In fact, I haven't been since I was 16. BUT!! :D I get to go next month (alone!!). Wheee! I've seen the Mirage's volcano, though, many times.

Just a earthquake here and it was rated "Did you feel that? => Feel what?" on the Richter scale.

Sun dog. :confuse3:

I just looked it up and found this explination with a picture:

Sun Dog - a visual effect due to ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. While falling - these crystals all align themselves - e.g. while falling with the flat side down. As a result - very beautiful light refractions may occur. These beautiful structures may take apparantly strange halo-shapes - as on this photo

I've seen plenty of them. It's happened here a lot, I just never knew what the name of it was. Pretty cool!
