if that was my kid we would have gone immediately home where i would administer a spanking and dinner would have been a bowl of cereal. i have never experienced anything like that little tantrum.

My kids still very occasionally try to pull that crap with me. In the past it was always both, at the same time, in harmony It's mostly just the youngest now....she’s stubborn (comes from her father, of course ). But they have learned that mommy will indeed leave the shopping cart exactly where it is and drag both of them kicking and screaming back to the car, and that yes, they will indeed spend some significant time in their room while mommy reviews the "why I should not kill my children" list she has taped to the fridge.
