Keep an eye on your denture wearing relatives
what ever do you when they die, don't let em get buried
with their teeth in, under the Obama deathcare plan you'll have to wear them.
Oh and pull their gold filings before they are shoved into the
crematorium by the death panels cuz yer gonna want to buy the
tatoo lampshades.

When I worked with my dad in his dental lab, we melted a man's
'partial framework' down and made his wife a new partial out of it.
He died, and it was close to an oz. of high %age yellow gold.
Man the thing was pretty ... shining it up on a high speed lathe.
I've also cut out and reused teeth from a denture for the same person,
to 're-make' for someone.
Usually only when they are porcelain though. I only reused plastic a time or two.
I'd like to know the "whole" story there. Because really ...it's not unheard of,
or actually representative of anything that negative...possibly.

That woman may be mentally ill, and need help.
Even if that woman somewhat wore those teeth, she wouldn't have been able to eat with them.

I don't know of any Medicaid, or Medicare that covers dental anyway,
and I haven't heard anyone mention coverage in that new bill/proposal either,
on either side.
So why bring it up?

Currently you cannot get dentures with medi-X in Cali, only extractions. Up to last year you could get a full set of chompers once every 10 years.
Here, there have been quite a few changes, more on the way.

oh yeah, I forgot about extractions, and it has been about 8 years now
since I talked to that 'clinic' doc.
I had to look for quite a while, and drive about 30 miles to see him, once.
I've been able to pay my own stuff since then.
Man,...people think it's rough now, but for me, the turn of the millennium was
a whole lot tougher.
'99-2001 I was in a real bad way...looking back.
At the time it was like well, "gotta do what ya gotta do".
But then ain't that the way it all is all the time really.
I need 2 more uppers out now.
That'll cost me a $200 minimum is my guess.
That'll leave me just 5 teeth on my upper. (all posteriors)
The next time I have to look at an extraction on the upper, I think I'll just
save up to get um all, and make me a denture. I've still got a little material left.
