Me & Mrs. Palin

Gonz refuses to see the part of his conservative doctrine would even fuck him over. Before we knew you could poison ground water, before we knew a great many things about how the actions of one person, or one small business, or one corporation can screw us all, well that is when the constitution was written. He'd like to revert to that time, but there is NO GOING BACK. Regardless as to weather GW is real or hype (and I personally am willing to look at both possibilities with realistic skepticism), there are many laws the protect us from unscrupulous greed. Gonz literally said that "greed is good". I don't know if he teaches that in his household, but if you ask me that is pretty fucked up. Fortunately the majority of people are coming to that realization as well, and we do have laws in place to protect most of us from the raw greed of others.

I realize that I am on the left on enough issues that folks mistakenly see me as a liberal, but at least I am willing to look at both sides of issues. I agree that there are things wrong with government as it stands. I agree that there is much regulation that is sheer nonsense, but we live in an increasingly populated world and if we don't act in the best interest of the masses, we are fucked! Times have changed, Gonz and constitutional "literalism" supporters have not, and I am sorry and also not sorry to say that folks with that attitude will either die off or be killed off when their desire for complete freedom infringes on the rights and well being of others. That is just survival of the species. He seems to have completely closed his mind to anything but the sheer fantasy that we can revert back to the founders visions. I am absolutely sure if the founders knew what we know about our world now, they would have been willing to adapt and evolve. In my opinion, it can be fun to argue with him but it is utterly useless because of his absolute unwillingness to learn information he doesn't want to agree with. A closed mind is a useless mind.

Oh and regarding "centrists" or "moderates", or whatever you want to call it. Those are the people who actually have the right idea more often than not. Those are the people who do not tie themselves to some self serving agenda or political affiliation and want to consider each issue individually and seek solutions that work. It is fortunate that most of us fall into that category and that we force our politicians to act accordingly.

It is also a failing of the two party system which seems to be uniquely American. Nobody gets a damn thing actually done because everyone is pandering to their base, extremists, and special interests for maintained power and gain

Wow you aren't even capable of understanding such data are you? Not surprising there seems to be very little you are capable of understanding if some right wing lying maniac hadn't told you what to think!

The number in the 30s is STRONGLY APPROVE.

Can you expand on your personal attack for me? It has been pointed out that Palin's favorable numbers were "only" in the 30's and 0bongo's favorable numbers are also in the 30's. Different polls, different people, same numbers.

let's not forget though that rational self interest has very little to do with what motivates one to be "conservative."

Self-interest is the government staying out of mine. I will live or die by my choices. Sorry the rest of you sheep can't do the same.

Don't ever call the fire department or mail. That shit is communist.

For the UMPTEENTH TIME it doesn't matter. There's no point there. It's government socialism and you should be railing against it.

Plus the mail isn't local.

Too cute for words

I'll keep that in mind the next time you need a cop or a fireman.

That's only Strongly Approve which has already been pointed out to you.

Obama's numbers are WAY higher than Palin's. You really have nowhere to go on this. Just admit it.

"Overall, do you have a favorable or unfavorable impression of Sarah Palin."

VS

"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 29% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President."

Hmmm. Maybe you're right.

The Palin poll just asks if the impression the respondent has is favorable or unfavorable.

The Hussein poll deals with actual voters and asks if they approve of his job performance. And apparently, they DO NOT.

:rofl3:

This is very transparent Cerise. You keep ignoring the Somewhat Approve because then it becomes obvious that Palin is far behind.

If you want to compare the exact same question then go to the two Polling Report links. Again you'll find that Palin is far behind.

This is getting pathetic for you. I think you have nowhere left to go except to admit that Obama has a far higher approval rating than Palin.

Either that or run away.

No spike, she does have a point that there may be some differentiation between asking do you approve, and asking about another person, do you approve or do you strongly approve, but it still leaves Palin in Obama's dust I'm quite sure.

Trouble is, come election time, will the easily swayed idiots be tempted to go with the dark side!

That's my point and why a linked to polls that asked the same question about both.
