Mom's recipe:

2.5 cups sifted all purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.25 cup soft butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup mashed bananas ( 3 small bananas mashed)
0.5 cup milk
2 tablespoons grated orange peel (optional)
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

stir flour, baking powder and salt together in one bowl
In second bowl beat butter sugar and egg until smooth
add bananas, milk, and orange and pecan (if used) to second bowl (butter mixture)
Fold flour mix into second bowl
grease 9X5X3 inch loaf pan
pour mix into loaf pan
Bake at 350 for one hour (more or less)

To test whether done, push toothpick into center of loaf. If toothpick comes out clean, it's done.

Really similar.
