By the way, Minks, I also know, unlike the currently sitting president, that there are only 50 states in the United States.

Now THAT'S geography!

RM,

Siam? Are you still living in 1948?
Yeah, you got me Jim. Those were the only ones that I could think off the top, .....that disappeared during the 20th century. :p

I was going list USSR for an even 10 but it just didn't quite meet the criteria I'za were think'n'bout.

I'll play along a little bit.

I'm lazy so I'll start with some that I'm NOT sure about.
Then maybe you can 'help'.
I'm not sure if these are considered counties, provinces, or have changed...

Burma
Hong Kong
Panama
Virgin Islands
Georgia (I think it may be classified as it's own now?)
Croatia
Chechnya

I may go for the big ones later.

Burma is a country...though it's now known as Myanmar
Hong Kong is part of China - though not completely - yet
Panama is a country
The Virgin Islands used to belong to USA and Spain as I recall...now it's part of Costa Rica
Georgia is a country, as is Croatia but Chechnya is still part of Russia...also, for the moment.
