These two paragraphs are enough

Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its continuing
hostility toward, and willingness to attack, the United States,
including by attempting in 1993 to assassinate former President Bush
and by firing on many thousands of occasions on United States and
Coalition Armed Forces engaged in enforcing the resolutions of the
United Nations Security Council;

Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terrorist
organizations,
including organizations that threaten the lives and
safety of United States citizens;

the first draft was about 9/11.

guess they had to change that later to re-rationalize what they already wanted to do huh? but of course the rhetoric continued to allude to iraq and 9/11.

oh yeah, and the pathetic

"they tried to kill my dad."

boo fucking hoo.

that shit is so easy to pull on you guys because YOU WANT TO BELIEVE.

well at least you guys kept your tribal loyalties intact.

WTF minx, they tried to kill a US President...does it matter that it was his dad?

The first draft is signed & sealed legislation about the overall war on terror.

The second draft is signed & sealed legislation about the invastion of Iraq.

Two different events

Excuse me?!?! As I recall, it was you numbnuts that couldn't separate Iraq & 9/11, no matter how many of us tried to explain it to you.

seek professional help. you are blaming me for your ridiculous conflations.

i've explained a million times that saddam and osama were not buddies and come from vastly different ideological spaces.

you're the genius who kept insisting that the trivial presence of some al quaeda in a remote area of iraq actually meant something.

nope. no linkage implied whatsoever.

(i assume you let your boilerplate speak for you.)

Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for
attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including
the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in
Iraq;

Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terrorist
organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and

Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001,
underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of
weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist
organizations;

Authorization for Use of Military Force (Enrolled Bill)

--S.J.Res.23--

SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.

(a) IN GENERAL- That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.

SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.

(a) Authorization.--The President is authorized to use the Armed
Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and
appropriate in order to--

Only Congress can declare war. This power is non-delegable. What Congress did was illegal.

As for saying Saddam tried to kill the president, Bush Sr. was not the standing president at the time of the supposed assassination attempt. Also, the whole thing is suspect.

Now let's not forget that the main pitch for invading Iraq which was them having WMDs! Bush tried pitching that to the world. I remember France not buying it.

*eats some freedom fries*

By the way, it was never proven that Al-Qaeda was behind 9/11, and the whole "war on terror" is a farce. How can you wage war against something intangible?
