is a colloquialism (and very old, probly more than 100 years old), "un pajaro en mano es mejor que un ciento volando"

which means, "a bird in your hand is better than a hundred flying", it is meant to indicate that it is better to be certain to have one thing than a hundred possibilities to have other stuff.

Aha! We have the same one here, but it's "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" :headbang:

written is easy, but speaking it fluently (and fast) is tricky for many people.
