It also concerns the background colour and size of the plate and the colour, size and font of the type as well. Something that not a lot of people seem to know as I've seen a number of cars driving around with illegal personalised plates.

It's also an offence for them to be unreadable because they are dirty.

The one that bugs me is when they don't display the correct plate on trailers and caravans
