Alright. Now that you've proclaimed that you're "the law" around these here parts it's time that you devulged a little more information. You talk the talk, do ya walk the walk? What you got in yer primary machine there buddy? We here at otc require this type of information or we'll never really have any type of worthwhile relationship which we can build a foundation upon.
All other newbies to otc are also encouraged to participate/share yet we do not promese to tease or otherwise mock anyone who owns a mac and has never seen the inside of their machine as they believe it's actually a magic box with a black hole contained within..

I love it so far. Got it at Aldi, which just amazed us. But for the price ... we've not been disappointed a bit.

Hmm, lessee.......

This computer is pretty much my workhorse.

1.6ghz Pentium 4
256kb ECC DDR Ram
40GB HD
CDRW/DVD 8x Max Write/play combo drive
3D AGP Graphics
10/100 Ethernet
Optical mouse
A cheap and nasty keyboard
Can't remember the specs of the monitor, it does need cleaning tho'

It's pretty much an off-the-shelf model......but it was in a sale for £400 so I couldn't resist :D

It's a little over a year old and caused not major calamities yet.

looks like my home PC.
1.2 ghz AMD Thunderbird
Amptron mobo
512 mb SDRAM

80 and 60 GB hard drives
CD-RW.
10/100 3com NIC
32 mb video card.

i dont put a lot of money ot time into this thing, i mainly read e-mail and newsgroups with it, go on the internet, used to type papers when I was a college boy.

work laptop is a little nicer

gateway 450 series
2.0 ghz P4, 512 MB DDR RAM, 40 GB HDD, CDRW/DVD combo drive, orinoco wireless 802.11b NIC onboard, 10/100 intel NIC onbaord, 56k modem onboard, 128 mb video ram.

One day I may get a new motherboard/processor/ram, but I can't justify it really.

YOUR computer blows!?

Oh yeah, check this out.

Desktop:
400Mhz Celeron (looking for 700Mhz PIII slot 1)
256MB RAM
1... ONE! Gigabyte HDD (my 15 gig bit it)
Jetway 7zxan Mobo (only goes up to 700Mhz)
Xpert 2000 video card (Ati Rage 128 Pro w/ 32MB RAM)
Edio(?) Sound Card (5.1 surround)
40x CDROM (not RW, not DV, only ROM)

Anyway, what a piece.

Laptop: Also what I happen to be connecting to the internet with right now.
IBM Thinkpad 600E
400Mhz PII
Video: NeoMagic 256AV(?) 2.5 MB video RAM
Sound: Crystal SoundFusion (built in speakers are broken)
10GB HDD (IBM Travelstar)
128Mb RAM
24x CDROM

Also, a piece...

What I intend to build next:
Mobo: TS-ASP3
RAM: Haven't thought about that yet.
HDD: Something huge.
CPU: 1.1 Ghz PIII Socket 370 (got a 733Mhz right now)
DVD Rom or CD RW or something along those lines.
Video: one of the newer ATI or NVidia cards (gotta be able to run Star Wars Galaxies)
Sound: Sound Blaster maybe. Anything that's better?
Etc. Etc.

I may be a noob, but my name doesn't imply anything that I'm not.
:lol2:

Oh, and laugh all you want at the state of my POS systems.
When I say I'm poor, I mean it. I bought that 733Mhz PIII for $30.

If I had the money, I'd be running a P4 or AMD(something) right now. I don't know AMD chips. The last one I had was a 486DX4 :alienhuh:
