How do you like your CPU?

A low of 52C and a high of 72C, all under load. And, yes, with 4 of them down there, the basement is substantially warmer than the rest of the house.

My room is about 8-10*F more than the rest of the house. Nice in the winter, a pain in the summer.

Most of mine run ~40*C

they say 24, 32 and 56 degrees and the thing hasn't done anything all day...
These are just guesses, but probably good ones. 24 is most likely your ambient or case temperature, 32 is likely your motherboard temperature, and 56 is your CPU temperature. If you say the CPU isn't doing anything, then that's a bit high, especially if it's just testing the back of the CPU package (the side with all the pins). But if it's going by the thermal diode, that's an OK temperature. Consider opening your case and seeing if those temperatures go down any.

What kind of system do you have, anyway?
