What you have going for you is a relatively strong military and a formerly strong economy.

Don't fool yourself into thinking that this makes you rulers or the 'best'.

If you're using economy and military as your yard-stick for greatness..might I suggest you take a look at who owns your economy now and whose military is larger than your own. (Yes, nuclear bombs are nice trump cards, but they ain't eh be-all and end-all.)

I am not an advocate of the death penalty, but I do believe people like that should be studied and have no rights to object to it, until we find out why they are like that and perhaps become able to treat or prevent it. Of course it would have to be "humanely done", so as not to be "cruel and unusual", but there has got to be some reasons.

Don't assume that I think that Canada is the be all and end all country on Earth either. I just think that 'best' is far too subjective to apply to any country.

Forget the Pound..the Brits are doing about as well as you. I'd suggest buying some place-mats with extra padding though, as kneeling 5x/day is tough on the knees once you start aging, eh.

Who owns your debt? Who you borrowin' from? China, and your friendly neighbourhood Saudi Prince.

If we as a nation start trampling on other nation's rights we can and will get smacked the fuck down. We've seen it over and over in the history of the world. Someone gets too big for their britches and they get humbled. If we can work together peacefully and be judicious in our use of military force, we can be a great presence in the world, but imposing our rule on others, well it's gonna be a sorry day when we do too much of that.
